Get-ISO practical guide
Information to prepare for an ISCC enquiry
Prepare your activities, materials, sites and supply-chain information before asking about ISCC certification.
A precise enquiry helps the certification body understand which ISCC scheme and scope may apply. Eligibility and audit requirements must be confirmed by the certification body against the applicable scheme rules.
Describe your business activities
Explain whether you collect, trade, store, transport or process materials. List each legal entity and site involved and identify outsourced activities.
Describe the materials and intended market
Provide the material names, origin, proposed sustainability claims, suppliers and recipients where known. State the destination market and any customer-specified scheme requirements. Do not assume ISCC EU and ISCC PLUS are interchangeable.
Explain the traceability system
Describe how incoming materials, stock movements, processing and outgoing deliveries are recorded. Identify how supplier documentation and sustainability information are checked and retained.
Provide certification history and target dates
Include existing or previous certificates, their scope and expiry dates, and any customer deadlines. The certification body must confirm the applicable audit scope, sampling, timing and certification decision.
Keep the enquiry proportionate
A short scope summary is enough for an initial discussion. Agree a secure transfer method before sending detailed commercial records or personal information.
